DIG INTO DINOSAURS NECKLACE

A couple of years ago I made Compass Necklaces to help promote our library's summer reading program.  This year's theme is DIG INTO READING for the children's program and I thought I'd make Dinosaur Necklaces.  I found a pack of assorted dinosaurs at our Dollar Store.  Score! They are about 2" in length.  I spray painted them with a shiny silver (in my garage), strung with cording (in my craft room) and added some fun beads (in my craft room, originally from Walmart).  I'll take the bowl of beads and let all of my co-workers make their own necklace.  Instant bling and a fun way to promote reading for our summer reading program.  

ANOTHER NECKLACE

I can't get enough of these necklaces!  I took beads, string and "pirate compasses" to my library so all 11 of us could make a "Novel Destinations" necklace to promote our summer reading program.  We just hired a new employee who will start the end of the week.  I had one pirate compass left so I went ahead and made her a necklace from the "left-over" beads.  I love how it turned out and the color combination. It may just be my favorite!

NOVEL DESTINATIONS NECKLACE

A friend wrote about the Pirate Party she had for her two children and the very clever pirate necklaces they made out of little plastic compasses.  That got me thinking.  Our library is having a Summer Reading Program themed "Novel Destinations" for the Adults, "You Are Here" for the Teens and "One World Many Stories" for the Children.  I thought we could use the same little compasses (50 cents each from Wal-Mart), add funky beads to make our own necklaces to wear to our kick-off party.  So, here is mine..........
