A few years ago I painted several watercolors of koi. The one on the right was a commission. The large koi is named "Tank" for obvious reasons. The owners actually bought him on their anniversary when he was a few inches long. At the time of the painting Tank was about 12 years old. It's so much fun to photograph and paint koi. They are so graceful with such beautiful markings. Each one seems to have a different personality. It's fun adding several glazes of color to the water and lily pads in these paintings. Enjoy!
